Sometimes we face difficult times. That’s part of life. We may be sad on those days and feel bad about our lives. We then overcome the bad feelings and recover from our sorrows. This is a healthy process that we have to go and accept at some points in our life.
But what we should beware of is the time when we are living just fine, having some troubles, but able to deal with them, and yet we ruin our psychological state by distorting our picture of reality. We should beware of our thought processes that can ruin our lives. The world around us does not enter our minds in its fullness and objectivity. We process it through our conception of it. Our ideas about reality shape our reality. We should be careful about our ideas.
Someone may fail a driving test; this can happen. They may be sad about it, but it is normally tolerable. Losing one’s mental stability because of such an event and concluding that one is a complete loser or even that cars are not my thing and I should never pursue a driving license again; all these represents a very distorted way to view reality. But sadly, most of us deal with the events in our life in such a way. We should be careful. For, if we choose to think positively or just accurately without an overly pessimistic tendency to assess our happenings, we will secure a longer happy life than we may think.
Do not ruin your day with exaggerated reactions and ideas; they won’t fix it. Deal with your problems in a balanced, rational manner that won’t lead you to quite inaccurate assumptions about yourself, your life, and your future.
It is only one life we get in this world. No matter what you value or try to accomplish, do it happily. Do not hate yourself because of unnecessary things imposed on yourself. Remove all the stress haunting you by removing your bad thoughts and improving your thinking processes. It always starts from your point of view; work on it. You can be happy by the way you view things in life. And you will always find a good reason to be happy. It is true; you won’t be happy every single moment. No one can guarantee you that. But being overall happy and leading a good life, this is a very doable and affordable goal to seek. And it always starts with your mind.
