Defeat Your Fear

Updated: Feb 20, 2024

Being afraid is not always bad; it is important to fear what is fearful. One needs to fear what is harmful to avoid its harm. The issue with fear is that it can overwhelm and haunt you. To avoid that, always face your fears, look closely at them, and see how they actually look. Once you know your fears, your ability to overcome them significantly increases. For they may not be that fearful in the end; you may find out that what you fear is not really that harmful and stop fearing them that much.

Facing your fears in a systematic way allows you to overcome them over time. You may need some help from a professional to do that, but you may start by yourself by checking the fears dominating your mind and working on them in a rational way. Question the extent to which what you fear is actually harmful and how probable that harm is. After applying this to your fears, you should see how most of them should not be that overwhelming to you.

If you fear not to find a good job, think about it. How harmful is that? Will your life be really devastated, as you presume, if you don’t find a very good job? How important is having a job in your life? Very important, yes. But should the quality of it overwhelm you to the extent that you lose the sense of joy in your life? How is it real that you cannot find a suitable job? How really bad is the job you don’t like? In what regards exactly? Do your standards for a good job really apply? Are they that accurate? Go question every part of your specific fear until you put it in its proper and accurate shape. You shall be able to defeat your fears with a rational and balanced approach toward them.
